Branding to celebrate the city’s 700th anniversary

Vilnius is the capital of Lithuania with a population of around 540 000 inhabitants. It was first mentioned as the capital during Grand Duke Gediminas’ reign in 1323. 700 years later, Vilnius Municipality is organizing a series of events to mark this anniversary.

Vilnius Municipality organized a contest to choose the best logotype for the anniversary. Commission of design experts chose our work as the best among 75 participants.

We created an identity inspired by architectural shapes. It defines a complex history of Vilnius while reflecting its modern present.

We based logotype on a stencil which allows the client to use it in original as well as outlined form. This way citizens can join design process during social campaigns and DIY initiatives.
